With the spread of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, society has become aware of the possibility of creating sophisticated synthetic images (including video) of individuals. However, the problem of so-called deepfakes goes beyond the possibility of misleading people into believing that the content is true.
This symposium will examine the illegality of sexually explicit images from both a civil and criminal law perspective.
