in this workshop, we will briefly review the laws and regulations concerning digital identity verification and customer due diligence in financial institutions, and then discuss recent trends, including the documents of the authorities, to examine their purpose and interrelationships. After that, we will discuss the practical issues that financial institutions are facing, and consider examples of possible measures.

With the spread of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, society has become aware of the possibility of creating sophisticated synthetic images (including video) of individuals. However, the problem of so-called deepfakes goes beyond the possibility of misleading people into believing that the content is true. This symposium will examine the illegality of sexually explicit images from both a civil and criminal law perspective.
